PeeWee A:  Jamie Todd

Coaching Philosophy

  • My coaching philosophy can be summed up as follows:

    • Strong belief in hockey fundamentals -- skating, passing, shooting, stickhandling

      • In practice, I try to run most/all drills to include a combination of the fundamentals

    • I coach each kid differently according to their strengths and weaknesses.  One size never fits all.

    • Strong belief in playing aggressive hockey.   Never let the other team relax.  5 Guys playing offense in the offensive zone and 6 guys playing defense in the defensive zone.

    • I love to teach.  This includes skills, the game, sportsmanship and how to compete.  Coming to the locker room each day is like going to school.  The kids should be ready to learn.

  • If a kid loves the game of hockey and gives his best effort most of the time, he'll improve greatly and have alot of fun on my team.

Tournament Philosophy

  • I strongly believe that tournaments are for the following purpose(s):

    • Challenge your team to play their best

    • Grow team unity and camaraderie that includes both players and parents

    • Play a number of games in a short period of time to quickly improve on game strategies, etc

    • Have experiences unique to hockey
