Coach Information and Resources

This page is set up specifically for AYHL Coaches and will be an ongoing resource for certification links, tournament links and other relevant information.

Coach Checklist 2022-2023 Season

All AYHL Coaches need to complete the following registrations and certifications for the Warriors 2022-2023 Season.  For each step, click on the UNDERLINED TOPIC to take you to the appropriate registration.

Important:  Use the same name on each registration and certification training - USA Hockey tracks certifications by name. (i.e Don't use "William" on your USA Hockey Membership registration and then "Bill" on your Safesport and Modules.)

  1. AYHL Coaching Application - Steps 2 through 9 must be completed prior to being approved for team rostering.

  2. USA Hockey Registration –  You will receive an electronic copy of your registration with a current USA Hockey Confirmation # (which you will need for the Arapahoe Warriors Team Staff Registration)

  3. Arapahoe Hockey Staff Registration – All team staff members must complete this registration - this includes Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches and Team Managers for the Travel, Rec and 8U Programs.  This registration will allow us to easily communicate with the team staff on team information, certifications, upcoming events, etc…  Your USA Hockey Confirmation # is required at the start of this registration.

  4. CAHA Membership - This is an annual registration with no cost.  You must become a member of CAHA to access all Coaching Information pages and team stats, standings, etc...
  1. USA Hockey Background Screening - $30 fee - good for 2 seasons.   Any screens completed after 4/1/2021 are still valid for the 22-23 season.  If the last screen was prior to 4/1/2021, then a new background check is required in order to participate in 22-23.  Background screens make take up to 2 weeks to be completed.
  1. USA Hockey Safesport Certification - no cost;  SS is now a yearly requirement and consists of a core course followed by three refresher courses.  Every fourth year one must take the core course again.
  1. Online Concussion Certification - no cost; yearly.  You can choose 1 training from the following 2 courses: CDC Heads Up or NFHS.  Please forward your Concussion certificate to SusanP@ssprd.org.
  1. USA Hockey Online Age Specific Modules - follow the steps 1-4 at the top of the Age Module page to sign up for an Age Module course.  Do not click on the RED button "USA Hockey Membership Registration" at the bottom of the page if you've already registered for a USA Hockey #.  (8U Coaches do not need to repeat the 8U Module if they've completed it once).
  1. USA Hockey Coaching Education Program Certification (CEP) -  to be completed by Dec 31st.  In-person and virtual classes will be offered.  Level 1, 2, and 3 are valid for one season (8U coaches must complete a level 1 CEP course, but are allowed to continue to coach at the 8U level with an expired CEP).
  2. Click HERE for more detailed guidelines for CEP.
