The AYHL Booster Club Scholarship application process is currently active until October 15th for the 2018/19 travel hockey season.
At the bottom of this page you will find a confidential application for the AYHL Booster Club Scholarship Fund. All awarded scholarships will be paid directly to the Arapahoe Youth Hockey League (AYHL) Ice Office to offset a portion of the AYHL travel team dues owed by the individual player. Scholarships are typically awarded at $300 per player in order to help out the maximum number of AYHL Travel Team families. Levels of assistance will vary from year-to-year based on available Booster Club funds.
All 2018/19 AYHL Travel Players are eligible and encouraged to apply for Booster Club scholarships as long as they are in good standing with AYHL, CAHA, and not in arrears financially with AYHL for any previous season. Scholarships will be awarded based on financial need and a thorough review of completed applications.
The deadline for receipt of scholarship applications is annually on October 15th. Scholarship recipients will be notified by October 31st via email. All application forms and information submitted will remain confidential. The Board of Directors / Scholarship Committee will keep all documentation submitted, so please provide copies and keep all originals. Scholarship applications submitted after the deadline may be considered depending on the availability of remaining funds. An AYHL Booster Club Board of Directors Officer may contact scholarship applicants during the application process for additional information and documentation. Please direct all questions to any of the Board of Director Officers via email.

The Capra family has been part of the Arapahoe Youth Hockey community for the past several years. Drew Capra learned to skate on the Family Sports ice and soon fell in love with the fast-paced action of hockey. He developed through the AYHL U8 hockey program, developing skills and confidence that led him to try out as a travel team player.
His family was always there to cheer him on, but no one did it louder than his mother Nicole Capra. Nicole was a quintessential sports mom, committed to traveling with her daughter for cheer and getting her son to early-morning hockey practices and games. Nicole battled cancer with the spirit and fierce determination that she brought to the rink, successfully beating it back for the first time in 2011. She passed away in June 2016, after making hundreds of valuable connections with families in the AYHL community.
Nicole served as Director of Fundraising for the AYHL Booster Club from 2015 to 2016. To honor her love of the sport and commitment to youth hockey, the Booster Club has created The Nicole Capra Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship will be presented annually to the AYHL travel hockey player considered to embody the essence of our league: dedication, sportsmanship, scholastic achievement, and a love for hockey.
